Each province also runs its own games, like Lottario in Ontario, Western 649 on the Prairies and Québec Max in Quebec.
Yes. Canada has three national lotteries, Lotto Max, Lotto 6/49 and Daily Grand, sold in every province and territory. Each region also runs its own lottery games, and hundreds of hospitals and charities run their own lotteries to raise money.
Lotteries are run by the provinces, not the federal government. There are five regional lottery corporations: OLG in Ontario, Loto-Québec, BCLC in British Columbia, the Western Canada Lottery Corporation for Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and the territories, and Atlantic Lottery for New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, PEI, and Newfoundland and Labrador. Together they run the national games through the Interprovincial Lottery Corporation.
There are four main types: national draw games like Lotto Max and Lotto 6/49; regional draw games such as Lottario, Western 649, Québec 49 and Atlantic 49; instant games, the scratch tickets sold at stores and online; and hospital and charity lotteries, which sell a limited number of tickets for prizes like homes and cash.
Everywhere: Lotto Max, Lotto 6/49 and Daily Grand. In Ontario: Lottario, Ontario 49, Daily Keno, Pick-2, Pick-3, Pick-4, Poker Lotto, MegaDice Lotto and Lightning Lotto. In Western Canada: Western 649 and Western Max. In British Columbia: BC/49. In Quebec: Québec 49 and Québec Max. In Atlantic Canada: Atlantic 49.
