How Lotto Max works
Each $6 play gives you four lines of 7 numbers from 1 to 52. In Ontario, the Prairies and the territories, you pick one line yourself (or Quick Pick it) and the other three are Quick Picks. Seven numbers plus a bonus number are drawn every Tuesday and Friday. You win by matching numbers on any one line.
The jackpot starts at $10 million and grows each time it isn't won, up to a cap of $90 million. The current format, with numbers 1–52 and four lines for $6, started with the April 14, 2026 draw.
MAXMILLIONS and MAXPLUS
MAXMILLIONS are extra $1 million prizes added to a draw once the jackpot reaches $50 million. To win one, a line has to match all 7 MAXMILLIONS numbers exactly. Once the jackpot reaches its cap, the jackpot stops growing and only the number of MAXMILLIONS prizes keeps going up.
MAXPLUS adds $100,000 prizes to every draw. The number of prizes matches the jackpot in millions: 10 prizes when the jackpot is $10 million, up to 90 when it's $90 million. Each needs an exact 7-number match, and a prize is split if more than one ticket matches it. The odds of winning each MAXPLUS prize are 1 in 33,446,140 per $6 play.
Prizes and odds
Odds are per $6 play (four lines). Except for the jackpot and the fixed prizes, each prize tier is a share of the prize pool, divided among everyone who wins at that tier.
